Telangana Chief Minister KCR has announced a ’60-day action plan’ to promote greenery and hygiene across the state.
KCR is one among the very few leaders, who is concerned about the environment. “Haritha Haaram” is one among many popular programs of the dynamic CM. Thousands of saplings were planted across the state, through the program. Now, taking the program to the next level, he has decided to consider Haritha Haaram, through a “power week” to feature it prominently in the 60 days action plan.
“The Panchayat Raj Act was made to clearly demarcate the duties, powers and responsibilities in the gram panchayats and also clearly pointed out procurement of funds. Hence, this is a good opportunity for the newly elected sarpanches, deputy sarpanches, ward members to perform their duties effectively for the development and progress of the village,” he said.

Through the plan, the villages will be given the responsibility to perform the tasks such as afforestation and cleanliness drives. Senior government officials will monitor the villages and makes sure, the task is being carried forward without any obstacles. The TS CM suggested the gram panchayats to focus more on greenery and cleanliness, such that the villages do not lose its prominence and identity.
