In an interesting turn of events, the Telangana High Court handed over the investigation of the poaching case that took place in October, where a few BJP members tried to buy off three TRS MLAs. The case came to light after raids were conducted on the farmhouse of a BJP member, following a tip-off by TRS MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy.
Rohit Reddy told the police that the BJP members tried to buy him off by offering him monetary benefits. As part of that, Ramachandra Bharati, K Nanda Kumar, and DPSKVN Simhayaji, the accused, were arrested. Following that, a special investigation team (SIT) was appointed to look into the case. However, the case has now been handed over to the CBI, after the accused moved to the Supreme Court, citing no confidence in the SIT.
With the case now being handed over to the CBI, it looks as though Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s name could be dragged into the case, as he had very publicly revealed the proofs in the case, at a public meeting. This could cause major problems for the CM, and the SIT as well.
