The state of Telangana is one of the most advanced states in the country, in terms of development, with the TRS government making waves with its development strategies. At the same time, the state is also witnessing a rise in the consumption of drugs, ganja and other such banned items.
Chief Minister KCR himself acknowledged this problem, saying that the situation should be controlled immediately, and with an iron hand. He said that it’s sad to see that the consumption of drugs in the state has increased so rapidly, in contrast to the kind of developments that are begin made in the state. KCR held a meeting with top officials of police and excise departments on Wednesday and devised several plans of how to curb the usage of drugs in the state.
KCR is said to have asked the concerned officials to first identify and seize all illegal plantations of cannabis and opium, to strengthen the Enforcement wing and the flying squads, and other special teams set up for monitoring the situation of drugs in the state especially. On the other hand, KCR said that drugs usage is a very harmful one for anyone who consumes them, with the youth especially losing their mental stability, among others.
