Actress Kayadu Lohar is officially returning to Malayalam cinema with Pallichattambi, as the makers have released a brand-new poster featuring her character. The single-character poster, unveiled recently, not only highlights Kayadu as the female lead but also confirms the film’s worldwide theatrical release on April 9. Posters were launched simultaneously in five languages, including Malayalam, creating strong buzz across film circles.
Directed by Dijo Jose Antony, Pallichattambi stars Tovino Thomas in the lead role. The actor is said to be appearing in a completely new and unexpected look, which has already sparked curiosity among fans. Kayadu Lohar’s casting had earlier grabbed attention when the announcement video introducing her as the heroine went viral.
Kayadu rose to prominence among South Indian audiences after her performance in the Tamil blockbuster Dragon, and her return to Malayalam cinema with a period film has added to expectations. Pallichattambi is set against the backdrop of the 1950s and 1960s, promising a visually rich and story-driven cinematic experience.
The film is produced by Noufal and Brijeesh under the banner of Worldwide Films, along with Chanukya, Chaitanya, and Charan for C Qube Bros Entertainments. The screenplay has been written by S. Suresh Babu, and the film will be released in five languages to reach a wider audience.
Apart from Kayadu Lohar and Tovino Thomas, the ensemble cast includes Vijay Raghavan, Sudheer Karamana, Baburaj, Vinod Kedamangalam, Prashanth Alex, and several other well-known actors. Cinematography is handled by Tijo Tomy, while music is composed by Jakes Bejoy. Megha Shyam and Thanseer are co-producers, with Manjusha Radhakrishnan in charge of costumes and Rasheed Ahmed handling makeup.
The technical crew also features Renith Raj and Kiran Raphael as chief associate directors, Sync Cinema overseeing sound design, and Rajesh Menon managing art direction. Casting is done by Binoy Nambala, digital marketing by Akhil Vishnu V.S, and public relations by Akshay Prakash. Stills are by Rishlal Unnikrishnan, while the poster design is by Yellowtooths.
With its period setting, strong technical team, and the fresh pairing of Tovino Thomas and Kayadu Lohar, Pallichattambi is shaping up as one of the most anticipated Malayalam releases of the year.
