Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s daughter, Kavitha Kalvakuntla, has become the official face of the Bathukamma festival in the state of Telangana, thanks to her Telangana Jagruthi program, through which she promoted the festival during the agitation for Telangana, and then continued to participate in every Bathukamma celebration.
Interestingly, this year, while Bathukamma celebrations took place at Pragathi Bhavan, Kavitha was conspicuously absent for the celebrations, which she hasn’t been, thus far. She did participate in Bathukamma celebrations, but elsewhere. Kavitha’s absence at Pragathi Bhavan is reportedly due to her alleged differences with her brother KTR.
Earlier this year, Kavitha missed tieing Rakhi to her brother, which she didn’t miss so far, raising a lot of doubts back then itself, about the differences between them over their political careers in the state. While Kavitha had an alibi that she was in the US on a vacation, at the time, her absence at Pragathi Bhavan has now become a hot topic in the state. Kavitha’s political career has taken a sharp decline, with her term as an MLC coming to an end next year, and the general elections are set to take place the year after that. Thus, Kavitha’s hopes of becoming a Minister are put on a hold until then.
