Hero Nikhil and director Chandoo Mondeti’s much-awaited movie, Karthikeya 2 has hit the screens today. Let’s analyse it.
Story:
The film starts off with Lord Sri Krishna episodes interlinked with his ankle. After some detailing about Sri Krishna, Karthikeya( Nikhil), a doctor by profession makes an entry as a curious person to know new things. After some unexpected incidents at home, Karthikeya goes to Dwarka to visit Sri Krishna’s temple. After landing in the temple town, Nikhil comes to know that his presence has a purpose. What is Nikhil’s mission? How will he crack the mystery behind missing Lord Krishna’s ankle, forms the main USB of the film.
On screen performance:
Nikhil did his part perfectly. His screen presence and intense in acting brings depth to the proceedings. Especially, his acting in the second half key proceedings add authentic flavour to the screen.
Bollywood actor Anupam Kher shines in a key cameo role. Anupama Parameswaran is adorable on screen and will be seen throughout the film but her significance is limited to a couple of scenes.
Aditya Menon as baddie is okay in his role. Srinivas Reddy and Viva Harsha evoke good fun with there comic screen presence. Other artists who did key roles are okay with their performance.
Off-screen talents:
Kaala Bhairava’s music is major plus for the film as his background score elevates key portions in an effective manner. The film has a couple of situational songs which are passable on screen.
Editing by Karthik Ghattamaneni is good. Apart from editing, Karthik also worked as DOP for the film. His work as cinematographer is impressive as well. The VFX and graphics work is done neatly. Production values for his limited budget film are good.
Coming to Chandoo Mondeti direction skills, his work and research on Lord Krishna is visible on screen. Though his narrative has a few cliched portions, Chandoo connected all dots nicely.

Verdict:
In an overview, Karthikeya 2 is a adventure thriller that is interconnected with Lord Sri Krishna. Though the film has a bit slow paced narration and rushed proceedings, overall will end up as a satisfactory watch if you keep a check on your expectations.
