AP State BJP unit President Kanna Lakshminarayana has slapped legal notice to the Vice Chairman of AP Planning Board for violating the election code with his challenge.
Kutumba Rao apparently thrown a challenge stating that he would offer Rs 10,000, if the state BJP chief can save his deposit in the ensuing general elections.
The legal notice served by Kanna’s lawyer V Srinivas Raju demanded an unconditional apology from Rao or else face definition suit.
Kanna is a powerful ‘Kapu’ leader and also been two terms minister during Rajasekhara Reddy’s tenure.
Kanna’s advocate claimed that Rao’s remarks caused mental torture and harassment. “You are hereby called upon by this notice to tender an unconditional apology to my client and BJP candidate immediatey and it should be published in all news papers, or pay Rs 10 cr towards damages within one week. Otherwise, face defamation suit,” he said.
Earlier, the BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao, who called the TDP chief a ‘sticker boy’ seems to have provoked the TDP leader and APPB Chairman to react so sharply against Kanna.
GVL also accused the Jana Sena chief Pavan Kalyan for having a tacit understanding with the ruling TDP.
