Indian 2, the prestigious movie from Shankar was anticipated to get shelved off, as Lyca Productions earlier back stepped from funding the film, as the budget of it is crossing the estimation limits.
Though the look of Kamal Haasan from Indian 2 has been revealed and even a few scenes have been shot, the film was put on hold for quite some time. As much anticipated 2.0 could not reach the expectations and the budget of the film was much heavier than the collections, the producers were not in a mood to repeat the mistake with Shankar again.
But the maverick director has assured the makers that he would wind up the project soon and release the film by 2021 Sankranthi. He also promised to limit the budget and give a quality output. The makers who got convinced with the assurance, have nodded yes to move the project forward. If everything goes well, Indian 2 will reenter the sets from the last week of June.
Kajal Agarwal is playing the female lead and the makers are in search of another young hero for a key role in the film. As the first part that released in 1996 was a massive success in all the languages, the sequel of it has acquired quite significance among Kamal fans and also other movie lovers.
