Prabhas’ pan-Indian film “Kalki 2898 AD,” which was released in June last year, turned out to be a major success. Director Nag Ashwin has been busy drafting the script for the sequel over the past few months. He plans to continue working on it for some time, with filming set to begin in June this year. This news was confirmed by the film’s producer, C Ashwini Dutt.
Nag Ashwin will start the pre-production phase soon, and Prabhas has already committed to the project from June. Additionally, Nag Ashwin is coordinating with Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and other stars to secure their dates. The production will extend for more than a year.
The sequel to “Kalki 2898 AD” is expected for release in early 2027 as Nag Ashwin will require substantial time for post-production. Grand sets are being constructed for the shoot, and significant funds will be allocated since much of the movie will be set-based. Kamal Haasan will portray the main antagonist in the sequel. The film is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, with Santosh Narayanan composing the music.
