Concept artist Sung Choi, known for his work with Marvel Studios and Disney, has accused the makers of Prabhas’ film “Kalki 2898 AD” of copying his artwork. Choi posted on social media, showing his original illustration, “Crash Site of ARK,” next to a similar frame from the film’s trailer.
He mainly criticized the unauthorized use of his art and questioned working in such a lawless environment. Fans and netizens quickly noticed the similarities and accused the filmmakers of the plagiarism. The film trailer was also criticized for resembling scenes from other films like “Mad Max” and “Dune”
Choi received strong support online, with many urging him to take legal action. “Kalki 2898 AD,” directed by Nag Ashwin and starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone, is set to release on June 27.
