The recent release of the official trailer for the movie “Kalki 2898 AD” has sparked a mixed reactions online. While the visuals and introduction to the main characters are impressive, the Telugu version of the trailer has faced criticism for its dubbing.
The dubbing of most actors are done by themselves, including Amitabh Bachchan, but Deepika Padukone’s dubbing has been heavily criticized for mispronouncing some Telugu words.
Although Deepika’s dubbing is disappointing, it is understandable given her lack of familiarity with the Telugu language. She has not acted in a Telugu film in 17 years, and the language is new to her. The director, Nag Ashwin, is known for his attention to detail and may choose to use a dubbing artist to improve the dubbing. It is quite evident that he will not leave any stone unturned for the quality of movie.
For now, social media users are mocking Deepika’s dubbing, similar to how Prabhas was ridiculed for his hindi dubbing in “Saaho” and “Radhe Shyam.” It remains to be seen how the filmmakers will address this issue before the movie’s release on June 27.
