It is known that the Karnataka government conferred ‘Karnataka Ratna’ award to late actor Puneeth Rajkumar at a grand function held on the premises of the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru. South star actors Rajinikanth and Jr. NTR attended the event and shared the memories they had with Appu.
Speaking on the occasion, the RRR actor shared emotional words remembering Puneeth. NTR, who spoke in Kannada, said that the late superstar won the entire state with no ego. The actor said that he attended the event as a friend of Puneeth Rajkumar.
“People get heritage and surnames from the elderly. But personality is in the hands of the individual. Puneeth Rajkumar has a great personality. His real asset is the love, trust and affection of the people. He felt that it would be difficult to run the film industry without him,” NTR said.
“I thank the Karnataka government for making me part of this programme. Puneeth was a great superstar of Karnataka, proud son, husband, father, friend, actor, dancer and singer. Along with all this, he was a great human being,” he added.
