A large scale research of Johnson and Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine has been ground to halt while the organization began researching whether the volunteer’s illness is due to the inoculation’s adverse effects.
It is well known that earlier in September WHO called off the vaccine trial for UK based study due to the patricpant’s neurological symptoms and consequently few more where paused. Nonetheless, later the trials continued. Now for the second time a vaccine trial has been withheld for similar reasons.
It is learnt that experts believe such temporary halts are quite common during the development of vaccine. However, the attempt to manufacture a covid-19 vaccine has put the researchers study at stake. On enquiry, Johnson & Johnson refused to disclose any additional details about the illness citing the participant’s privacy’s as per the informed consent norms. However, it assured that it would assess whether the illness was triggered due to placebo or vaccine.
Johnson & Johnson was eyeing to enroll 60,000 volunteers to figure out if its single-dose method is efficacious and safeguards against the novel Corona virus. This single dose approach is unique in contrast to the regular two dose shots.
