It is known that Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar had filed the complaint in the Andheri court in November 2020, claiming actress Kangana Ranaut had made defamatory statements against him in a TV interview.
Now, the 76-year-old lyricist has moved an application for issuance of a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) against the Queen actress.
On November 15, Kangana had sought exemption, claiming that she was unwell and suffering from high temperature and body aches. The actress also said that she was in the process of challenging the dismissal order passed by the CMM Court in the Transfer Application filed by her’.
However, Javed Akhtar’s lawyer pointed out to the court that while the Bollywood actress claimed to be sick, the updates on her social media handle on November 15 clearly show that she was actively involved in the shootings of her forthcoming films.
The advocate representing Ranaut opposed the petition, and it is kept pending for hearing until the next date. This is the second time that the veteran lyricist has filed a petition for NBW issuance.
