Disney’s new sci-fi movie Tron: Ares is hitting theatres this week in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The film focuses on Artificial Intelligence, and lead actor Jared Leto believes it is releasing at the “perfect time.”
Speaking at the London premiere, Jared told Digital Spy, “It’s the perfect time for this movie because AI is such a big topic right now. We started working on this film about nine or ten years ago when almost nobody talked about AI except experts. Now everyone is using it in some way. So it’s amazing that the film is coming out at this moment.”
Jared has been part of the project for nearly a decade. His co-star Jodie Turner-Smith said the film’s focus on AI ethics feels very real and timely. “We shot this a year and a half ago, and they made it so relevant. The topic of AI has changed so much since the project began,” she said.
Jodie added, “We don’t have all the answers about AI, but we want people to think about it — about ethics and keeping technology human-centered. AI doesn’t have to be scary. It can help make the world better if used responsibly.”
She also mentioned how the story explores what happens when powerful AI is controlled by someone without ethics — referring to the character Julian Dillinger, played by Evan Peters.
Tron: Ares, starring Jared Leto, Jodie Turner-Smith, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, and Jeff Bridges, releases in Indian theatres on October 10, 2025, in English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
