Actor-turned-politician and Jana Sena Party founder Pawan Kalyan congratulated Superstar Rajinikanth on being selected for the Dada Saheb Phalke Award.
The Gabbar Singh actor released a note press note saying that Rajinikanth taking this prestigious award made him happy. He said Rajini, who has been entertaining the people for over four decades, entirely deserves the honour.
He said that the veteran actor is very close to the former’s family and recalled that Chiranjeevi and Rajini worked together in two Telugu films about 30 years ago.
Cheering the announcement of the award to Rajinikanth, several celebrities including Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, former Union Minister Chiranjeevi and Telugu star Mahesh Babu and many others congratulated the 70-year-old actor.
Dada Saheb Phalke Award for the year 2019 will be presented to Rajinikanth on May 3.
