Kollywood star Suriya’s “Jai Bhim” turned out to be a breakthrough film in his career and it received tremendous critical appreciation, despite landing into controversies. Based on a true incident that took place in 1993, the courtroom drama gives a sensible depiction of the rights of the Irular community.
It is known that Jai Bhim received a Golden Globes 2022 entry. Now, the film has added another feather to its bejewelled cap. A scene from the movie has now been featured on the official YouTube channel of the Oscars. This is the first time that a Tamil film found a place in the prestigious YouTube channel of the Oscars.
Suriya’s production house, 2D Entertainment, announced the same on Twitter and wrote, “An honour of the highest order! #JaiBhim has been featured in the official YouTube channel of @TheAcademy #SceneAtTheAcademy https://youtu.be/6tRv0L1Xq9Q #Oscars @Suriya_offl #Jyotika @tjgnan @rajsekarpandian @PrimeVideoIN (sic).”
Apparently, Jai Bhim is currently the highest user-rated film on IMDb, with a score of 9.6. It surpassed the ratings of The Shawshank Redemption and The Godfather.
