Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set to meet with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, on Tuesday, to discuss some pressing issues about the state. While the agenda of this meeting hasn’t explicitly been stated by the YSRCP members, there are assumptions that CM Jagan will be requesting the PM to order a CBI enquiry into the discrepancies in the buying and selling of Amaravati lands.
Jagan had previously met Union Minister Amit Shah in Delhi as well, but the agenda of that meeting hadn’t been made public by the YSRCP members, either. There have been reports that this meeting too was about Amaravati lands, and that Jagan is trying his best to make sure that the suspected scam of Amaravati lands comes out as soon as possible.
On the other hand, the High Court of Telangana is reportedly planning to speed up all the pending cases of people’s representatives, as per the directions of the Supreme Court. These cases would be dealt with, depending upon the designation of the person in question, and the urgency of the matter. CM Jagan is already facing charges for illegal assets, and his case is going on in the CBI Special Court.
Jagan was to regularly appear in front of the court at first, but he was relived after the Coronavirus situation got out of hand in the country. It is now to be seen how soon Jagan’s cases would be dealt with, by both the CBI special court, and by the Telangana High Court as well.
