Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is said to be losing out on a key player from the YSRCP, to none other than his political archrival TDP. Ramprasad, who was a key member of the YSRCP in Kadapa district and is from the Rayachoti assembly constituency, is said to be quitting the YSRCP and joining the TDP very soon. He was also in charge of the logistics of the year-long padayatra of Jagan’s, which took place in 2018, ahead of the general elections.
However, later on, it was said that all was not well between Ramprasad and MLA Gadikota Srikanth Reddy, who is another close aide of Jagan’s. Apart from that, it was also said that many from the YSRCP were trying to block Ramprasad’s ascent in the YSRCP, due to which he has been disgruntled for the past few months.
Ramprasad is said to have met with TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu recently, who is said to have welcomed Ramprasad with open arms and is also said to have asked him to concentrate on Rayachoti, and how to increase their base in that constituency. Given that Rayachoti is one of those districts in Rayalaseema that didn’t vote for the TDP, and with Ramprasad knowing the internal workings of the YSRCP, it is being said that it would be a huge loss for the YSRCP if indeed Ramprasad joins the TDP and that it would be a huge gain for the TDP.
