The YSRCP’s two-day plenary concluded today, and the party took the decision to name Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy the lifetime president of the YSRCP. Party senior leader Vijayasai Reddy took to the stage to make the announcement today, publicly, saying that there have been 20 sets of nominations to make Jagan the lifetime president of YSRCP.
In the past, there have been instances where parties like DMK and AIADMK, from Tamil Nadu, had lifetime presidents for their parties, which the Election Commision even approved of. As a result, it is now being expected that even Jagan’s nomination as the lifetime president of YSRCP is going to be accepted.
On the other hand, Vijayasai said that another request would be made to the EC, for the party to be called the YSRCP or YSR Congress Party only, hereon. The YSRCP’s two days plenary took place on a grand scale at the Acharya Nagarjuna University.
