Right after the victory of Jagan Mohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh on May 23rd, Srinivasa Rao, who was accused in the murder attempt on the YSRCP Chief was granted bail.
Speaking to the media after coming out of Rajahmundry central jail, Srinivas said that, he never intended to attack Jagan.
“I’m a follower of Jagan and the attack he faced was accidental. I’m also ready to face NARCO test in this regard. When I was walking towards Jagan to take selfie, I had a small knife with me that can be used for fruit salad,” said Srinivasa Rao, maintaining that he was not linked to anyone in TDP too.
The incident took place in October 2018, when Jagan was inside a lounge in Vizag airport. Right after Jagan faced the injury, the AP police were seen hitting Srinivas, but as Srinivas revealed, Jagan instead asked the police not to do it. The AP police have filed the case but, upon the demand of YSRCP, NIA later took over it.
On the investigation, the NIA officials have submitted a report to NIA court in Vijayawada and finally Srinivas was granted the bail.
