Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy strictly went against the Central government, who earlier advised to not review the Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) done by the TDP government.
Claiming that Rs. 2636 Crore public money had gone into the wrong hands, Jagan ordered for a detailed review of PPAs and said that the culprits, after identified, will have to face the law.
Even in YS Rajashekar Reddy’s regime, the then Congress government undertook reviewing the PPAs entered by the previous government, which was TDP again and the outcome was not found significant.

So even the YSRCP government may not be showing any impact by reviewing the PPAs, as they were already approved by the Regulatory Commissions.
Though the Chief Secretary LV Subramanyam earlier said that reviewing of PPAs would shake the confidence of the investors, Jagan still went forward with his decision. Will this uncompromising attitude invite any new problems to the young CM from the Centre? Will it thus turn into the favor of TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu and give his party the lost glory? Let’s see.
