When YS Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power in 2019, after the YSRCP won with a staggering majority, Jagan announced that he would be reshuffling his cabinet after two and half years, so that the power would be balancing out. This reshuffling was supposed to have happened six months ago, but Jagan postponed it.
As a result, a lot of the members of the YSRCP have been eyeing various ministerial posts in the cabinet all this time. In the last six months, especially, they have been trying their best, to bag these posts. Those who are already ministers have been trying their best to retain their posts, by being more active and doing more in their constituencies.
It is now being said that Jagan has decided not to reshuffle the cabinet at all, due to the current situations in the state, with so many protests and employee agitations in the state. He is said to be of the opinion that reshuffling the cabinet would create further problems for the government, leaving all the ministerial aspirants highly disappointed. With so many members left disappointed, it is now to be seen how this will impact the YSRCP’s future.
