Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had announced that the Village Secretariat and Ward secretariats will be in effect from January 1 officially.
Even a couple of days back, there was announcement that the village secretariats would start functioning from the New Year Day and all services including electronic services will be available at these buildings on a large scale without any fail.
However, on Tuesday night, there is a news from the Government that the commencement of the secretariats got postponed for now. Most probably they will open from next month.
CM Jagan has ordered the temporary postponement of the ward and village secretariat services, which are supposed to begin today (January 1).
The infrastructure in some ward and village secretariats is yet to be completed. A large number of amenities required was not fully assembled by the contractors.
In addition to that, some of the people who have joined the job have already quite hence ward and village secretariat services are being delayed.
About 30 thousand vacancies are reported when the village and ward secretariat are joining the job and the posts are not filled. many of these secretariats have still been lacking basic infrastructure.
Except painting of the gram panchayat buildings with the YSRC party colour, the authorities have not provided infrastructure.
Sources said the government would have to issue a fresh notification to fill up these posts.
