Roja is one of the most prominent and active members of the YSRCP and is often referred to as the firebrand of the party. Apart from the time that the state suffered due to the coronavirus pandemic, and a short while due to her personal reasons, Roja has always been very proactive in party affairs, and in all other political matters pertaining to the YSRCP.
Roja thought that she would be given a Ministerial post, or at least be incorporated into Chief Minister Jagan’s cabinet, after the 2019 elections. However, she got a shock after Jagan didn’t take her into the cabinet, due to various political and other reasons. Roja was limited to being just an MLA and was then made the chairman of AICC, in an attempt of consolation.
Now, the Jagan government has given a major shock to Roja, by appointing Mettu Govardhan Reddy as the Chairman of the AICC. Not just Roja, but other MLAs such as MLA Jakkampudi Raja and MLA Malladi Vishnu, who have now been limited to being just MLAs. Sources say that the CM took this decision to completely get rid of the dual posts system. This is now causing a major state of dissatisfaction for members of the YSRCP because they weren’t informed prior to this decision.
It is begin said that all of these MLAs would have been a lot happier if Jagan informed them in advance so that they would have gotten the chance to resign from their posts on their own, with a lot of dignity. With so much dissatisfaction caused due to the CM’s sudden decision, it is now to be seen what will happen.
