One of the major decisions, YSRCP government took after its formation was the huge hike in the salaries of Aasha workers. While the decision was heavily lauded, even before the government could take the advantage of it, it cancelled the ration cards of them.
According to the government, as the annual income of Aasha workers has gone up, it felt that there is no such necessary of the ration cards and so have been cancelled. Along with Aasha, even the PDS benefits for Talaris, Panchayat staff and others were also cancelled.

But the latest decision has resulted into a severe disappointment among the Aasha workers. The issues of this sort are turning out to be in favor of the opposition parties, who is using it to defame CM Jagan. The government, which tried to gain the political mileage after hiking the salaries, unfortunately had to face a severe backlash for cancelling the ration cards.
So the YSRCP government is now trying to get back the cancelled ration cards. But the mistake has already taken a toll on the government. It should be seen, how will the Chief Minister Jagan manage to convince Aasha workers.
