Income Tax sleuths continue to conduct raids unabatedly on TDP leaders to unravel source of funds they are mobilizing to spend in the ensuing elections.
The ruling party accuses the Modi government for misusing the premier institutions for political gains. They term it as political vendetta by unleashing reign of terror on their leaders. Party President and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, himself had to go for sit-in dharna to register his protest against the Central agencies mischievous raids on the election eve only to help the Modi and his party,
The latest raid by IT officials is on Galla Jaydev, the Guntur TDP Lok Sabha candidate’s auditor’s house in the town. Jaydev is the richest politicians in AP, who reportedly disclosed over Rs 700 cr officially in the latest election affidavit.
Sources and media reports confirm the raids which started late on Tuesday day continuing at Jaydev’s auditor Gurrapu Naidu residence and offices, even as the election campaign come to an end for tomorrow’s polls.
Highly placed sources said, IT officials apparently conducted searches all over his residence, seized some incriminating documents and also computer discs etc., besides frisking him away to undisclosed place for questioning on election expenditure-related issues.
Last week, the IT sleuths also raided another TDP MP CM Ramesh’s house in Kadapa as well TTD Chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav. Both are senior TDP functionaries as well influential in YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s native Kadapa district politics.
As if this was not enough, the Enforcement Directorate had also raided last month another TDP MP YS Chowdary, alias Sujana Chowdary, offices had also attached immovable and movable properties of Viceroy Hotels Limited in Hyderabad, worth Rs 315 crore, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 in a bank fraud case.
He also served as a minister in Narendra Modi’s cabinet till the TDP opt to walk out of the NDA alliance.
