Andhra Pradesh BJP chief Somu Veerraju was obstructed by AP police when he was on his way to Amalapuram, on Wednesday morning. An empty container was brought to obstruct his car from passing, and the way Somu interacted with the container’s driver, and with the policemen, has gone viral on social media. Section 144 has been imposed in Amalapuram, due to the recent riots, and as such, no one is allowed to go to the area.
However, after Somu clarified that he wasn’t going to Amalapuram and that he was instead going to Ravulapalem, the police made way for only his car to pass through. With the videos of Somu’s behavior towards the policemen doing rounds on the internet, there have been a lot of trolls and criticisms on how the police could leave him be, despite his behavior. Following this, cases have been filed against Somu, by the police department.
In the past, many of the opposition members were arrested over midnight, in various creative ways, and over the weekend, in an unexpected turn of events. It is now expected that the same would be followed for Somu. On the other hand, some believe that these cases would soon be forgotten and that Somu will be left untouched.
