Recent raids in various locations in Hyderabad by the National Investigative Agency (NIA) sleuths, once again raises doubts over the city becoming a safe haven for several terror groups, especially the ISI.
Although, three people were arrested and later released after questioning, the senior BJP leader, G Kishen Reddy, who is also a candidate from the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency, alleges that the city being linked to all terror attacks wherever it takes place across the country, establishes this fact.
He blamed the TRS government’s complacent attitude as they are in alliance with the AIADMK for not acting upon the Central agencies alerts or warnings over possible terror threats. If one has to believe intelligence reports, Hyderabad is on ISI radar to recruit innocent people, especially from the economically poor Muslims.
Kishen Reddy claimed the Central intelligence agencies are giving inputs to the state government from time to time over the large-scale recruitment happening by ISI agents in city. But, the state government has failed to take serious note of it. “The recent arrest of three youths by NIA sleuths and questioning them should be a wakeup call to the state government, as any untoward incident that happens in near future, the TRS government has to shoulder the responsibility,” the BJP leader said.
He also alleged illegal settlement of Rohingyas in various parts of the state and government is turning a blind eye. “Those areas are vulnerable and may turn into ticking bombs,” he said.
Former BJP MP, Bandaru Dattatreya, too express apprehensions over growing terror recruitment in the city. According to him, in the recent raids, the NIA sleuths reportedly recovered indiscriminate documents linking to ISI and demanded for creating a ‘special cell’ under the Director-General of Police level be created to look into serious menace which is spreading quietly under the mat.
He wanted the government to keep a close vigil on cities and towns where the possibility of alleged recruitment is taking place like Hyderabad, Nalgonda, Adilabad, Nizamabad and Karimnagar. He also slammed the MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for remaining a mute spectator.
