YSRCP leader Avanthi Srinivas said that several TDP leaders are ready to join in the ruling party, if Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy open the gates.
After YSRCP got a huge mandate in the assembly and Lok Sabha elections, it was anticipated that several leaders of the opposition party, would jump into the ruling party. But shockingly, Jagan openly stated that he would not encourage any defections in his party, unless the other party leaders resign to their existing positions. This made several leaders stop from joining into the ruling party.
However, a few of them jumped into BJP and others are continuing in TDP, with no option left. Now Avanthi Srinivas is highlighting the point that Jagan is not encouraging defections, as if, the young CM is favoring the opposition party.

But in reality, it should be noted that if at all Jagan invites TDP leaders into his party, then it would result into a huge downfall of Telugu Desam in the state, and may thus lead to the sudden rise of the next alternative BJP in the state. If this happens, then Jagan may find it tough to tackle the national party and go against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
So Jagan might have felt that it is easy to tackle TDP than BJP and that could be the reason for YSRCP, not encouraging any defections. So it would be better, if the leaders like Avanthi Srinivas, stop avoiding to highlight the point, as if the ruling party is doing a favor to TDP by opposing the defections.
