After Virat Kohli stepped down from the captaincy, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is now finding it difficult to replace the former skipper. The RCB has retained Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj, including Kohli, as part of the IPL 2022 retention.
However, exceptionally Manish Pandey came into the RCB captaincy race. As per the reports, RCB is considering offering Mr Pandey a contract in the IPL 2022 super auction.
Manish Pandey, who has an excellent track record as the captain of the Karnataka team in domestic tournaments, has more possibilities for taking the reins of the RCB. He became the first Indian to score a century in the IPL in 2009 while playing for RCB.
Apart from these, the RCB management is also considering being a native of Karnataka, as well as having a good track record in the IPL. Manish has so far scored 3560 runs in 154 IPL matches at an average of 30.68.
Meanwhile, analysts believe that Aussie player David Warner also has a chance to lead the RCB. To know who will be the next captain of RCB, we have to wait until the mega auction in February next year (2022).
