Balagam, a rural Telangana drama featuring Priyadarshi is one of the bigger hits of the year when it comes to investment and returns ratio. It went on a staggering run at the Telangana box office and reaped huge profits to everyone involved.
Coming to the topic, Darshi wasn’t always the first choice for the protagonist in the film, it seems.
Apparently, the director of the film, Venu Udugula first approached young actor Sri Vishnu for the male lead role in the film.
But Vishnu wasn’t able to accommodate the dates and he turned down the project. Venu then looked or alternatives and roped in Darshi for the role.
In the end, it all ended well as Darshi nailed the rural Telangana accent and it worked in favor of the film. Vishnu sadly lost out on a golden opportunity as the film turned out to be a raging hit.
