After facing a 66-run defeat in the first ODI against India on Tuesday, England is set to suffer another blow as their skipper Eoin Morgan and Sam Billings could miss the second ODI because of injuries in the series-opener.
The skipper split the webbing between his right thumb and forefinger. Doctors suggested Morgan had to undergo four stitches for the injury. Billings, on the other hand, rolled to the top of the shoulder (collarbone) in order to stop the ball at the boundary line.
The England team management is planning to rest these two players. The team management hopes these injuries could have a serious impact on England’s chances of winning the second ODI.
The second ODI will be played on Friday (March 26) at the same venue between the two teams as part of a three-match ODI series. Team India currently holds a 1-0 lead in the series.
