The Omicron variant of Covid-19 is steadily rising in India as the count has crossed the 100-mark on Friday. The country now has 111 cases of the newly detected variant of Coronavirus.
A total of 11 states and union territories have recorded 111 cases of Omicron since it was first detected in Karnataka on December 2.
In the past 15 days, many states and national capital Delhi have continued to see a slow rise in the Omicron case tally.
As per the Central government’s data, Maharashtra has registered 40 cases, Delhi (22), Rajasthan (17), Karnataka (8), Telangana (8), Gujarat (5), Kerala (7), Andhra Pradesh (1), Chandigarh (1), Tamil Nadu (1) and West Bengal (1).
On the other side, India’s active count stands at 84,565, which is the lowest in 569 days. The total number of Covid-related recoveries stands at 3,41,71,471, which accounts for 98.38% of the total cases.
