What an interesting match on Day 2 of the 3rd Test between India and England at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. India registered a rare 2-day win in Ahmedabad on Thursday to take a 2-1 lead in the four-match series.
Batting in the second innings, England failed to put a heavy target for the hosts on the scoreboard. It was annihilation from the start as Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel restricted them to give a small target of 49 runs to Team India.
Axar Patel took a five-wicket haul in the second innings, after his six-wicket haul in the first innings. R Ashwin departed four English batsmen and created a record of becoming the fourth Indian to take 400 wickets while being the second-fastest overall.
India, chasing 49 runs for the win, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill finished the job with ease and helped the team to take 2-1 series in the test series. With this win, Virat Kohli has most Test wins at home. He has 22 wins while MS Dhoni has 21 wins.
