The third test match between India and England had started on Wednesday at the newly inaugurated Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After defeating the visitors with a huge margin in the 2nd test, Team India has shown a clear dominance on the first day of the Third Test.
Winning the toss, England skipper Joe Root chose to bat first in the day and night pink ball test. Batting first, the England team was restricted to a low total of 112 in their first innings. Apart from Zak Crawley, 53 of 84 balls, none of the English batsmen able to score against the Indian bowlers.
Indian left-arm spinner Axar Patel from Gujarat has taken the home ground advantage and took a six-wicket haul against the visitors. Ravichandran Ashwin yet again showed his top-class spin by dismissing three batsmen from the opposition team. Ishant Sharma had taken one wicket.
After the all-out of England team, India lost three wickets on day 1 of the first innings. Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli got departed while Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane stood in the crease for Day 2.
