In a shocking development, India has recorded 6,148 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll in the country to 359,676. This is the highest number of deaths that India has seen in a day since the start of the pandemic.
As per reports, the jump in death was seen after Bihar revised its toll on Wednesday, adding 3,951 previously uncounted deaths to its tally.
The country has also reported 94,052 new Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, which is the third straight day that India is seeing cases below 1 lakh.
With the addition of new cases, India’s total caseload due to Covid has now risen to 2,91,83,121, while there are 11,67,952 active cases.
On the other hand, the Union health ministry has revealed that the cumulative number of Coronavirus vaccine doses administered across the country has increased to 23,90,58,360.
