In an alarming development, India is witnessing a gradual rise in the daily Coronavirus cases, hinting at the fourth wave. The country reported 21,880 fresh Covid-19 cases on Friday, pushing the national caseload to 43,847,065.
The Union health ministry’s data revealed that daily fatalities due to the viral stood at 60, which is 15 more than Thursday’s figure. The total number of Coronavirus related deaths in India is 525,930, which is 1.20% of the overall caseload.
The dashboard of the health ministry also showed that 21,219 more people recovered from Covid-19, with the total figure of recoveries climbing to 43,171,653. Meanwhile, the cumulative number of active patients went up to 149,482.
On the other side, over 3.7 million vaccine doses were given in the last 24 hours, which took the national vaccination figures to over 2.01 billion.
