In a significant development, India reported over 3 lakh cases for the second straight day on Friday. As per the union health ministry, the country has recorded 3,32,730 cases in the last 24 hours.
With this, the South Asian country’s trend of recording the world’s highest daily tally continues, pushing the country’s total infection count to 16,263,695 cases. The country now has over 2.4 million active cases.
As many as 2,263 people also died of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, scaling the Covid-19 death toll to 186,920. Apparently, this is the third day that India recording deaths over 2000.
As per the data, the six most affected states by total cases are Maharashtra (4,094,840), Kerala (1,322,054), Karnataka (1,109,650), Tamil Nadu (962,935), Andhra Pradesh (942,135), Uttar Pradesh (976,765) and Delhi (956,348).
