India has witnessed a steep decline in the Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours. The country has reported 1,587 fatalities, which is the lowest number of deaths that the nation has recorded since 17 April. So far, 3,83,490 people have died from the pandemic.
On the other hand, the global coronavirus-related deaths have crossed a grim milestone of 4 million on Thursday.
According to figures released by the Union Health Ministry on Friday, 62,480 people tested positive for the virus. There was a decrease in fresh cases compared to the previous day. That brings the total number of cases to 2.97 crore. The ICMR revealed that 19,29,476 tests were performed on Thursday.
There appears to be a significant reduction in longer active cases. The number of those currently suffering from Covid reached below 8 lakhs. The active rate reached 2.78 per cent. The recovery rate increased to 95.93 per cent. Yesterday 88,977 people have recovered. The total recoveries are over 2.85 crores. As many as 32,59,003 people were vaccinated yesterday. The number of doses distributed so far has reached 26,89,60,399.
