Corona virus cases are declining in the country. India on Saturday registered 84,332 fresh cases and 4,002 deaths in the past 24 hours. This is the lowest number of daily cases that the country has reported in the past 70 days.
With the addition of new cases, the total number of cases in the South Asian country has risen to 2,93,59,155, while the death toll has gone up to 3,67,081.
There have been 1,21,311 discharges in the last 24 hours, while 2,79,11,384 have been discharged so far. There are currently 10,80,690 active cases in the country. More than 24.96 crore people have been vaccinated in the country so far.
The top five states which recorded the maximum cases are Tamil Nadu with 15,759 cases, followed by Kerala with 14,233 cases, Maharashtra with 11,766 cases, Karnataka with 8,249 cases and Andhra Pradesh with 8,239 cases.
As per the union health ministry, 69.07% of the recent cases were recorded from these five states, with Tamil Nadu alone accountable for 18.69 per cent.
