In a shocking development, the number of new Covid-19 cases in India has breached the 1 lakh mark for the second time in 3 days with over 1.15 lakh fresh infections being reported in the last 24 hours.
With the addition of fresh 1,15,736 infections, the Covid-19 tally has been pushed to 1,28,01,785. With 630 daily new fatalities, the death toll rose to 1,66,177 in the country.
With 59,856 patients having recovered in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries went up to 1,17,92,135. As per the reports, states such as Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Delhi, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh are contributing to the highest rise in daily infections.
Maharashtra, which is severely hit by Covid, alone accounted for over 55,000 cases in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the ICMR revealed that 25,14, 39,598 samples have been tested up to April 6.
