In a largely unwanted record in what could be considered an early stint under Gautam Gambhir’s tenure as the head coach of India, the men in blue have stuttered against Sri Lanka in the ODI series.
India lost the series 2-0 to Sri Lanka after a disastrous performance in what has been a fiercely contested series.
This is the first time in the last 27 years that India lost a series to Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. This is a hugely unwanted record for the men in blue.
This means that Gambhir’s stint as the head coach of the Indian side has started off on a poor note. Moreover, losing the third ODI by a margin of 110 runs makes this loss that much more sore for the men in blue.
India will soon be facing Bangladesh in a bilateral series and winning this is going to be extremely important.
