The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Tuesday announced the 15-member Indian squad for the final of the ICC World Test Championship. The mega tournament starts on June 18 in Southampton, England, where the team is facing New Zealand to become the inaugural champions of WTC.
Here is India’s squad for the WTC final:
Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (Captain), Ajinkya Rahane (vice-captain), Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), R. Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Wriddhiman Saha.
The squad announced by the BCCI has six batsmen, two wicketkeeper-batsman, two spin bowling all-rounders and five pacers.
However, some players, who are part of the team that has toured England are said to be disappointed for not getting a slot in the squad. Axar Patel, KL Rahul, Shardul Thakur, Mayank Agarwal and Washington Sundar are left behind due to multiple options available with the board.
