India has recorded their first-ever Test victory at SuperSport Park in Centurion after crushing South Africa in the first Test on Day 5.
After setting a big 305-run target, the visitors bowled out the hosts for 191 in their second innings to seal a massive 113 run win.
The victory gives India a crucial 1-0 lead in the three-match Test series against South Africa. The series will next head to Johannesburg for the second Test before concluding with the final Test in Cape Town.
As per the stats, 2021 is the second time that India has won four tests outside Asia in a calendar year (Brisbane, Lord’s, Oval, Centurion). The previous instance was in 2018 (Jo’burg, Nottingham, Adelaide, Melbourne). The victory marks India’s fourth Test victory in South Africa in 21 games.
