YSRC and YS Jagan decided to ban liquor in Andhra Pradesh and as an initial step cancelled few of the licenses of bar owners. Several restrictions were imposed on the bars. All of this turned to be a tough task for the bar owners to follow.
Responding to the cancellation of the licenses, the bar owners decided to go to High Court challenging YS Jagan’s decision. Responding to this, AP High Court gave shock to YS Jagan by issuing stay order. High Court further ordered the government and the bar owners to submit affidavit. The stay order is for six months as few of the bar owners reported that their license is valid till mid of 2020.
Even though the intention of YS Jagan is good with respect to the ban of liquor in AP, High Court decided to honor the license period of the current bar owners. After six months, YS Jagan’s plans to ban liquor may take full swing.
