The 35-year-old diva, who made her presence felt in both South and North film industries, has always been vocal about her mental health. After opening up about body-shaming, the Pokiri actress has now revealed that there was a time in her life when she had developed suicidal tendencies.
While speaking to a popular English daily, Ileana recalled her Instagram live and clarified the effect of body-shaming. Ileana said, “I came across an article and it wasn’t meant with good intent. Yes, I had body issues, from the age of 12, and I’ve been very conscious about myself, that’s one aspect.” The actress continued, “Talking about having suicidal thoughts… it is a very sensitive topic, and there has been a time in my life when I hit a very low point in my life. But it was not related to body issues, those were some other issues.”
“So I think it’s an extremely ingrained scare because you are carrying it for so many years. It takes a lot of inner strength to tell yourself that what they are saying doesn’t matter. What your feel about yourself is most important. And it’s something I tell myself every single day” she added.
On the work front, Ileana will next be seen in Unfair And Lovely, opposite Randeep Hooda. Apart from this, she will also star in Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi’s yet-to-be-titled film.
