Sushanth Akkineni revived his acting career with Ala Vaikunthapurramulo and he is pinning high hopes on Ichata Vahanumulu Nilupa Radu. The film released in theaters today and here is our review of the same.
Story: In an attempt to meet his girlfriend (Meenakshi Chaudhary), Arun (Sushanth) goes to the wrong house, where a cruel felony takes place. Arun is now framed for the felony. Can he prove that the allegations made on him are baseless?
What About On-screen Performances?
Sushanth looks settled in the role of a nonchalant man, who, after a series of fateful incidents, is accused of committing a serious crime. He delivers a fine performance. Meenakshi looks beautiful on screen. She is a decent performer. Vennela Kishore, Priyadarshi, and Abhinav play comical roles and they fit the bill.
What about off-screen talents?
The director S Darshan picks a plot that has very little novelty. The situational comedy isn’t as effective. His screenplay is single-layered and the suspense on what’s about to happen next is inexistent. Several scenes are illogical and the tempo drops further, owing to the bland narration. The core conflict doesn’t pack a punch. Praveen Lakkaraju’s songs are adequate. But the poor placement of the songs doesn’t help the cause one bit.
What’s Hot?
- Suspense sequences in the second half
What’s Not?
- Bland narration
- Poor climax
- Illogical scenes
Verdict: Ichata Vahanamulu Nilupa Radu is a poorly-written comedy-drama that has very few things going its way. A couple of comedy scenes in the opening half and a suspense sequence in the latter half are just about the positive aspects of the Sushanth starrer. Bland narration and illogical scenes are just a few of its negatives. It ends up as a poor watch.
