Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that he is not sure whether he voted to TDP or not.
In his recent media interaction, Naidu said that several EVMs failed to work during the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections yesterday and opined that the votes were misplaced due to the negligence. Answering to a question on the same, he said, “I myself was not sure to whom my vote went to, such is the failure of the EVMs.”
These statements from the Chief Minister has shocked the journalists around and drew few laughs. Later, the CM said that he is going to Delhi, to question the EC, for creating a situation like this, in Andhra Pradesh elections. Naidu severely went against the EC saying they neglected the basic necessities at the polling station and completely failed as a system. The public found it much difficult to vote, due to the EC negligence.
In the early hours of the polling, the TDP circles detected the mis-functioning of the EVMs and Naidu demanded for the re-polling. In several media interactions, Naidu said that if the voters vote to TDP, it is going to YSRCP, and blamed the Jagan’s party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this, alleging that they had conducted a conspiracy to defeat TDP. Even Nara Lokesh in this regard, had staged a protest in Mangalagiri demanding an apology from the Election Commissioner last night.
But the polling was still continued throughout the day at several places and in few places, it even lasted till the midnight. While Jagan and his party circles were not bothered about the non-functionality of the EVMs, it heaped the doubts among the TDP leaders. However, the chiefs of both the parties-TDP and YSRCP have expressed their confidence in witnessing a landslide victory and were found happy with the good percentage of the voting.
