After more than a decade, Hyderabad is all set to welcome back the IMAX experience. Once home to the iconic IMAX screen at Prasads Multiplex, the city lost its high-format cinematic gem in 2014 due to operational challenges. But now, the big screen dream is being revived.
Suniel Narang of Asian Cinemas has officially announced the construction of a brand-new IMAX theatre in Hakimpet, expected to open in the next two years. This news has sparked immense excitement among film lovers, especially Mahesh Babu fans.
All eyes are now on SSMB29, the ambitious collaboration between Superstar Mahesh Babu and visionary director SS Rajamouli.
The film, said to be a globe-trotting action epic, is likely to hit screens in 2027. Fans are eagerly hoping Rajamouli will choose to shoot it in IMAX format potentially making it the first Telugu film to premiere on Hyderabad’s new IMAX screen, creating cinematic history.
